Phil Renteria

 

Another BWB coach to emerge from Melbourne’s VJBL representative programs, Phil has played some very serious hoops. After spending his junior career with Melbourne Tigers, Phil played Big V Championship basketball with Hume City and Corio Bay.

In 2018 Phil embarked on a basketball adventure and returned to the country of his birth, Columbia, where he played for Piratas De Bogata in the Colombian Professional Basketball League. Returning to Australia, Phil recommenced his Big V career and in 2021 his work was rewarded with a place on Melbourne Tigers NBL1 roster.

Phil has also found time to put together an extensive coaching CV and has held assistant and head coaching roles in the Hume City and Wyndham VJBL representative programs. An amazingly well-rounded young man, Phil recently completed his Master of Architecture course and spends his days working as an architect.
