Callum De Forest
Having participated in basketball as a coach and player most of his life, Callum is a self-confessed student of the game. Callum played VJBL representative basketball throughout his junior years, predominantly with Melbourne Tigers before switching to coaching.
With more than 20 years experience working successfully in a variety of roles within the banking industry, the global pandemic gave Callum an opportunity to step away from corporate life and pursue his real passion - motivating, educating and coaching junior basketball and working more broadly within the sporting industry.
His most recent contributions towards basketball have been focused on grass-roots development of players with the goal of enhancing skills of athletes to compete at the representative level. With various coaching roles in youth academies and teams, Callum is a coaching member of the Melbourne United academy and Head Coach of the Sandringham Sabres U18 Boys 1st VJBL representative team. Prior to his relocation from Sydney at the beginning of the year, he was also the Head Coach of Manly’s U18 Boys Premier representative team while also coaching academies. Callum volunteered his time with Basketball NSW in their elite youth development pathways.
Callum is stoked to be working with a growing community club such as Bayside Warriors.
